Recommending Blog Posts within News Articles

In this post, we’re going to integrate Tumblr content into a Yahoo news feed, through the following steps:

Step 1: Create an interest graph about a Yahoo news article.

Step 2: Filter Tumblr content through the interest graph.

Step 3: Integrate filtered Tumblr content in the Yahoo news article.

Step 1: Create an interest graph about a Yahoo news article

We used topics extracted from a Yahoo news article as an input for Primal to create a highly specific interest graph.

Step 2: Filter Tumblr content through the interest graph

The visualization below shows a portion of the interest graph that Primal’s artificial intelligence created using the article above as the input.

Step 3: Integrate filtered Tumblr content in the Yahoo news article

In this last step, Primal used a collection of Tumblr RSS feeds related to sports and retrieved hundreds of blogs from Tumblr. It then filtered and ranked them based on the interest graph that represents the article.
